Barry M. and I launched out of Fourchon yesterday and had a rough time. The first few rigs we stopped at were in shallow water where the cobia were supposed to be, but the water was dirty with under 4' vis, and a black murk layer on the bottom. We moved further out, only to get asked to leave from the few promising rigs we tied up to. This was by far one of the worst trips we've had so far. Ended the day with 1 30lb. barracuda, one mangrove snapper and 1 triggerfish.
The water temp was in the low 70's. I made do with a 3mil wetsuit. Air temp was high 60's. If it gets much cooler I will need to move to a heavier wetsuit.
